I've had a great birthday! I mean I think I could have sat in my room and done absolutely nothing and still had a great birthday because I'M IN AFRICA! But everything was taken up a notch by the wonderful people here!
Last night a huge group of us headed to Bull and Bush. It is a local bar/restaurant by day and small dance club by night. We got there before 9am to avoid the cover charge but they still made us pay it bbecause they could. sigh. Sometimes, you just have to take things as they are and move on. We all just talked and hung out over a couple beers and chips (fries). I was sung happy birthday in sweetish and finish! It was soooo cool! Talk about an international birthday.... Finally the music started and we moved ot the dance floor. It was so much fun to dance with everyone and see people who could actually dance! I really liked Bull and Bush because it was a nice mix of locals and foreigners. The music ended at 2 and we headed back to our dorms.
This morning I woke up and stumbled to my door still half asleep. When I opened I jumped back because my door was decorated! Now we have Jillians door decorated and mine! Our neighbors think it is really cool. They have heard of someone decorating a door.
"It's party time"
Today was very relaxing and chill. I went to the mall and stopped at Woolworths. It is a nice, high price store that has a lot of delicious foods. It kind of reminds me of whole foods. I bought cream cheese, a block of cheese, jelly, dried fruit, and GUACAMOLE! These were all precious items that I didn't really need but wanted and I used the birthday excuse to pay for them! :)
Tonight, we of course had cake. Michelle, from Australia, made a delicious brownie cake! That's right MADE from scratch. It was sooooo good! Probably one of the best cakes I've ever had. Now, I'm full and trying to focus on my personal statement. I'm bidding my time until I get to skype with the Iowa gang! What a great way to finish my day!
Paige and our two neighbors!
Thanks everyone for the birthday wishes and for making my birthday so special!
Happy birthday kaylee, your birthday package will be there probably by Wednesday. It is a long way to Botswana via USPS. I loved your blog about the SPCA. There is an article in the state newspaper today about a black lab who traveled over 500miles by foot to get back to myrtle beach and his owner. His owner had left him at his dads in Virginia while he came back to mb to move back to va. The microchip got him reunited with his owner after he disappeared from dad's and was found in mb at 2:00 am. Rosie and Robert
