So here it is... (Duh dum duh dum)... THE FIRST POST.
I decided to create a blog to keep friends and family updated about my experiences in Africa. Unfortunately for you, the reader, my writing skills are not amazing. My spelling abilities and interest in grammar are minimal. Hopefully you'll forgive me and enjoy reading about my experiences in Africa!
My apartment is mostly packed up and I’m ready to cram all my stuff into my mom’s house again. I still can’t believe that the semester is over. I have finished my last year at Clemson and wrapped up my job at the dairy farm where I have spent a lot of time the last three years tugging udders. :) I’ve been saying goodbyes left and right these last two weeks, yet it still hasn’t hit me that this chapter of my life is over. It’s been one hell of a school year. I got to see Blink 182 (yes, your inner 90’s self can be jealous), visit Iowa to see my cousin play one of his last football games in high school (awesome family), visit New Jersey and New York during Christmas time (a whole other world), see Harry Potter World (Epic), road trip to Virginia (SNOW!), adventure in Costa Rica (priceless), and take three dairy trips (Florida, NC and Virginia). It was extremely busy as I juggled to be president of the dairy science club, take classes, maintain a job, manage a relationship and keep a social life. I can’t say that I did a great job balancing everything but I sure learned a lot. Most of all, I have memories that will last a lifetime. I’m ready to kick it into slow gear and cruise through the summer preparing for my trip to Botswana. Okay Okay, let’s be real. I have a hard time being in slow gear but at least I will be free from most responsibilities!
Count down until take off.... 2 months and 16days!
