Food Poisoning

Yep Folks,
It's true.  I finally got caught by food poisoning.  I guess that every foreigner needs to run into it at some point.  It's the unavoidable.

I'm choosing to blame the sketchy pizza I ate at spar on Sunday, although really it could have been anything.  But, no more pizza for Kaylee.

I've been sick enough to stay in bed all Monday and Tuesday. I think I've slept over half of the last 60ish hours.   I'm feeling better today but still not quite 100% so I didn't venture to Mokolodi.  Boo!  I crawled out of bed this morning to sneak into the laundry facilities.  I heard they opened at 7:30, so when I arrived at 7:30 I felt for sure there would be a machine open.  NOPE!  I had to hop in line and hope for the best.  Luckily, I picked the right machines and had my clothes washed pretty quick. Now my room and the common area are covered with my clothes as they air dry.

Yesterday, I did drop off my passport at the international office.  I now officially have a residency waiver.  They can't kick me out! Yay!  The only issue I can see is that it runs out December 20th.  I hope they let me back into the country so I can fly out on January 9th!  Oh Boy!

I'm going to continue to chill out today and hopefully start studying for my test Monday.  There is a lot of stuff I need to memorize.  No bueno.

I'll end with a picture of some really good looking friends of mine.  Oh yeah....That's nice.

  2. Nlulamisi,
Better stick with that packaged oatmeal and fresh bananas in your room. Food poisoning can be nasty stuff and you never know how the food was handled at a lot of the restaurants. I am happy that you are feeling better and I know it must have really knocked you for a loop to give up 2+ days because you can squeeze out more "life" out of every moment than anyone I have ever seen. Two whole days in bed for you is probably like two weeks for the rest of us.
