I spent this morning out at the BSPCA again. It was wonderful. They have a TON of kittens right now. I played with them forever. I then found an older, slightly feral, kitten. I of course fell head over heels and continued to socialize it for awhile. It reminded me so much of Cindy Lou Who. After more cat love and a few dishes, I needed dogs. I decided not to walk the same dogs I walked last time. I feel they are the super friendly ones that all volunteers walk. I wanted more of a challenge and to play with dogs that maybe don't get attention as often. I entered a cage of probably around 12 dogs. They were all super sweet. Well, except for one, but I just didn't turn my back on her and we were all good. After they all calmed down , the two other girls I was with entered and gave some lovin. We caught a ride back to broadhurst mall with the BSPCA van again. LUCKY! :)
At the mall we went by spar. I grabbed some bananas, beans, soup and a sparkling lichi flavor water. Good stuff. Now, I'm sitting in my dorm. I trying to do things to be productive instead of read. Yesterday, I literally laid in bed all day and read. I was going to do laundry but the facility closed at 12 and I was too late. At around six yesterday, I finally got up and went for a run. For dinner I had a few boiled eggs and spinach. My roommate and I figured out how to boil eggs in our water kettle. I'm super excited about this. Now, we have an easy protein source. Check. Last night we headed out to Bull and Bush again. It was really busy and then about 20 international students showed up. They had a dj that played a lot of American music. I danced the night away again. Good times!
The end of my week went pretty fast. Thursday night I went out with a group to celebrate two friends' birthdays. We went to Rhodesios which is this really nice, expensive restaurant located at Riverwalk. I split a veggie platter with a friend. All the guys got all you can eat meat. They literally just keep bringing different kinds of meat to the table. It was crazy to watch.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
At 3, I met Nora and we walked to the vet clinic. It was an interesting day. A woman brought in several deceased baby goats (kids). She has a farm with sheep and goats and she's been having problems with the kids passing away after a day or two. We opened them up to try and find the reason they were dying. There was nothing obvious, but we took samples to send off for testing. Several dogs came in for regular vaccinations. A puppy came in for parvo and another for babesiosis. I can't explain how much I enjoy the vet clinic. The people there are so nice. It's great to feel like you belong somewhere. After work, Nora and I ate at the dining hall, enjoyed the sorghum pap, and then I chilled out in my room.
The kittens are melting my heart but please don't bring any home! Smile!!
