Pizza Club

After crawling into my bed Saturday morning after my bus ride, I awoke from the dead a few hours later.   The girls were heading to the city to run some errands and buy some gifts.  I was not about to miss out on our last Saturday in Santa Maria.  Gah, last Saturday!?  My stomach does flips as I write that and I'm not sure whether I want to cry or release a colorful string of words.  Eish.

So I jumped out of bed like a good little spring chicken..... okay okay... so maybe it was more like this.....

he he. Really accurate... hair and all.  :)

We explored the center of the city for several hours.  We hit many of the main Gaucho stores.  These stores are incredible and if I could buy out the whole store I would.  They have all of the traditional thins such as cuias, belts, knives, traditional clothes, gorgeous boots, things for horses, and the list goes on.

It was an absolutely gorgeous day so we also walked to an ice cream shop.  It was set up similar to a frozen yogurt place at home.  You got what you wanted and weighed the damage at the end.  I loved it because I go to try all kinds of fruit flavors they don't have at home!  After a few more stops we started walking home.   We took a knew way home and discovered this awesome park.  I hate that I won't have time to use it.  It had a large running path around it, work out stations, a playground, soccer area, and just beautiful grass!  I feel like these areas are super important when you live in the city!

That night we decided it was time to finally explore the pizza scene here in Santa Maria.  They have these magical places where you sit down and waiters come by offer you a piece of their pizza.   It's similar to a buffet where you can try many different kinds, but 100 times better!   The first place we tried had a line out of the door that would have made us lucky to eat by the following morning.  So our next stop was Pizza Club, where we still had to wait an hour to eat.   We sat there watching delicious pizzas past by and almost tackled the waitress in joy when she led us to our table.  From there, the pizza just started coming.  We tried every flavor you could possibly imagine plus more!

Our pieces slowly turned from whole pieces, to splitting a piece, to each person taking only a bite.  After we couldn't possibly eat other bite of the savory pizzas, we were not done!  Oh no!  We moved on to dessert!  There is always room for dessert!  My favorite was the pizza that tasted like key lime pie, followed closely by the pizza that tasted like smores.   Needless to say,  it was a great night.  What I don't understand is why we don't have this in the US?  Why, Why, Why, Why, Why? If anyone is looking for a good business adventure,  this is your ticket!  Platform 9 and 3/4 has just appeared. The train is boarding.  Jump on.

After we rolled home and snuggled with the dogs, Ashlee wrote this amazing blog post about her pizza experience.  It's hilarious and worth reading!

Wishing you endless supplies of delicious, warm, cheesy pizza!  :)

 Waiting Patiently!

The exciting beginning! And we are off!

The regret!

  1. Kaylee, I am getting fatter by the minute just reading about your food extravaganzas! The pizza deal sounds like it would go over really big here. Imagine key lime pizza. I wish you could get that recipe! I loved your blog on the local dogs. You are so right - dogs round out the sharp edges in our lives. They make the living worth while. The great thing about dogs is if they love you, they will never and I mean never abandon you, abuse you, forsake you, lie to you, cheat on you, steal from you, or sell you out for a better deal. When God made the dog, He created his masterpiece. Maybe he should have stopped there. Hummmmm...
